Summary

This release improves the way agents must authorise Opera 3 for Making Tax Digital before they can submit VAT Returns on behalf of their clients.

These changes affect companies with the ‘Submit by agent’ option selected on the Company Profiles form.

For ‘Submit by agent’ companies, only one user now needs to be authorised to submit MTD VAT Returns. The same authorisation information will be shared by all Opera 3 users in those companies.
The first Opera 3 user who completes an agent authorisation for a company will in effect authorise all Opera 3 users.
Upon upgrade to this new release, a ‘one off’ agent authorisation must be done by one user using the MTD VAT Centre.
