Opera 3 SQL SE Release 2.82.60

These are the details for Opera 3 SQL SE (2.82.60).

Version

2.82.60

Released

Dec 21

Summary

This release is provided because of EU Intrastat reporting requirements changing from 1 January 2022, specifically:

  • The Intrastat reporting changes only apply to Opera customers (businesses) who trade in Northern Ireland (NI) and sell goods to EU member states.
  • From 1 January 2022, businesses in England, Scotland and Wales no longer have a requirement to send Intrastat reports to HMRC.

When the legislation becomes effective, two additional items of data are required on the line-by-line details contained within the Supplementary Declaration, but only for despatches (i.e. sales/exports to the EU); the changes do not apply to arrivals (i.e. purchases/imports). The additional items of data required for despatches are:

  • Partner ID (EU customer's country code plus VAT registration number)
  • Country of origin (CoO); i.e. of the goods being sold.

Note: Businesses in Northern Ireland who import goods from the EU will still have to produce an Intrastat that details such imports (referred to as ‘arrivals’); the Intrastat details for imports are not changing. HMRC will no longer accept the submission of an Intrastat report by an EDI file, from 1 January 2022 the only automated ways to send Intrastat report data to HMRC is by:

  •  CSV file upload (i.e. CSV file rather than an EDI file)
  •  Manual input by the user via an HMRC portal.

This release gives the ability to create the necessary CSV file for upload.
