Tax Year History

This view is accessed using the Action menu associated with the Payroll Processing form.

The Tax Year History view displays year-end pay details by tax year for the employee.

The details displayed in this view are recorded at the end of each tax year when the Payroll - Utilities - End of Year Cleardown command is run.

This feature is available from the start of the 2020-21 tax year and so the first year's pay history that can be viewed is for the 2019-20 tax year. Pay history for later years will be recorded at the end of each tax year.

You can use the Action menu to:

View NI code details on the NI Code Values form. In the situation where the employee's NI code changed during the tax year, the values for all NI codes are displayed alongside the pay period when they changed.
Revise the year-end pay details for the selected Tax Year record on the Revise form. This option may be used to make any necessary prior year adjustments which are to be submitted to HMRC using a Prior Year FPS RTI Submission.

You can change the way the grid looks, for example you can re-sort the information, pick columns to view and so on. Right-click your mouse on a column heading to view the menu of options. For more details, see the Forms and Dialog box elements Help topic.

The maximum number of years of tax history that is retained in Payroll is controlled by the Tax Year History option on the Payroll - Utilities - Set Options form, starting with the 2019-20 tax year.
