Backup & Restore

Do not use Windows Explorer to copy data files to and from backup locations. Always use the System Manager - Utilities - Backup and Restore commands in Opera.

Pegasus Web Xchange

The Opera 3 company data and the Pegasus Web Xchange website data is held independently. Keeping the separate data synchronised is critical because both hold payroll information.

Using the System Manager - Utilities - Restore command will restore the data in Opera 3 to a different time - but it will not change the data on the Pegasus Web Xchange website.

As the two sets of data will not then be in sync after a data restore, the link between the two systems is temporarily broken. It's then up to you when you want to relink the two systems again using the System Manager - PWX Centre - Resynchronise command. When you do, Opera 3 and the Pegasus Web Xchange website will resynchronise.

As an example, let's say it's 31 August 2017 and you have suffered hardware failure which has caused data corruption. You need to restore your data to your last backup, which was taken a week ago on 24 August 2017. So you restore the data backup taken on that date.

The link with Pegasus Web Xchange is then broken until you use the Resynchronise command to re-link the data. After you re-link, the website data will also be rolled back to 24 August 2017. Any changes that were made on the website that have not been approved in Opera 3 will still be displayed in the PWX Centre so that they can be imported into Payroll.
